Cotonete is a septet with a flexible musical lineup, founded in 2005. Its members combine their repertoires and influences for a vibrant and elegant result, a fusion of 70s funk with a disco feel and classy Brazilian jazz-funk.

Expect funky brass and woodwinds, Rhodes and Clavinet instruments straight out of the 70s, a profusion of wah-wah guitar, and a bass/drum rhythm section as tight as a Bertrand Blier dialogue. Cotonete is the meeting of the groove of Herbie Hancock, Deodato, Donald Bird, Patrice Ruschen, Azymuth, and the JB's, and the French art of living, where one takes the time to do things, to savor local products with timeless flavors. And when it comes to playing: a Cotonete live show is a dance floor on fire, fueled by the scorching improvisations of these seven groove-loving rogues.
