Afro Colombian Psychedelic
Rich in centuries of creolization, the music of the Caribbean basin is among the most diverse and fascinating in the world. Today, its heritage crosses oceans and continues to reinvent itself in an ever-richer sonic and narrative tapestry.
With Dámelo, their debut album, Pambelé offers a subtle blend of Afro-Colombian folk rhythms and piercing, acid sounds inspired by the psychedelic movement of the 1960s. Through this fusion, the group powerfully asserts itself within a transatlantic cultural universality, resolutely Caribbean.
The traditional percussion and chants of the Colombian Caribbean coast intertwine with the incisive riffs of an electric guitar and the sensual warmth of an old analog organ. This first opus, a true distillation of raw material, invites us, with frenzy, into an enchanting, torrid and exuberant trance, an irresistible call to dance.
